One of Belfast’s hidden gems The Jane Bradfords today announced that their brand new album will be released on February 13th as a digital download and physical CD. 100 Miles of Broken Pavement is the follow up to 2008 self-titled debut release and features previously released singles Tonight the World is Always Ending and Judicial Duel.

Not only have they announced the release date and track-listing for the album, but you can also stream the record in its entirety below. If that doesn’t make your day, we really don’t know what would. Fans of The National and Arcade Fire should be all over this record.

Midweek Memories: CSS – Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above

Midweek Memories – a weekly feature from All Gone Pop bringing you a track from days gone by that is simply too good to be forgotten. It might be from 2 years ago, it might be from 50 years ago – but it will be a tune.

Following on from last weeks Midweek Memory, this time around we have the lovely and very Brazilian CSS telling us what Death From Above 1979 are for.

Released in September 2004, this was the first single from the bands self-titled debut album Cansei de Ser Sexy (literally translated as “I’ve grown tired of being sexy”) though it only charted after being re-released in 2006, coming in at #39 in the UK Singles Chart, despite being an absolute tune.

Even though founding member Adriano Cintra departed the band in November of last year, thankfully the band have continued to be really sexy.

The Mars Volta announce sixth studio album

Just over a week since legendary Texan outfit At The Drive-In announced that their station was once again operational, in a manor of speaking, Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López‘s other project The Mars Volta today announced details of their sixth studio album Noctourniquet.

Co-written by Bixler-Zavala and Rodríguez-López, with Rodríguez-López also twiddling the production knobs, the 13-track record follows up from 2009 release Octahedron which peaked at #12 in the US Billboard album charts.

Described as housing conceptual influences ranging from Superman villains, to Greek mythology, Noctourniquet is touted as ‘bold’ yet one of The Mars Volta’s most ‘confident and refined’ releases to date.

Noctourniquet will be released via Warner Bros. Records on March 26th

Check out the sexy and quite frankly bizarre music video from General Fiasco for their new single Don’t You Ever.

The single is lifted from their forthcoming second album which is due out early summer 2012, with Don’t You Ever released through indie label Dirty Hit on March 5th.
